Who studies the arts in schools?

Much of our work documents the demographic profiles of arts students in K-12 schools. Through this research, we aim to understand who chooses to enroll in elective school-based arts education and how the population of arts students differ from non-arts students.

We examine the demographic profiles of music, visual art, dance, and theater teachers in order to understand the makeup of the arts educator workforce and the ways arts educators differ from teachers of other subjects and from their students.
